Green Power Systems

Green Power Systems LLC, a Florida company, employs a simple and efficient conversion process to produce cellulosic ethanol. It gasifies the feedstock which means that the organic portion of any waste is reduced to it’s most simple molecular structure.

The gasification step uses Westinghouse – Plasma torches inside an oxygen starved reactor, generating super heated steam (which can be used to co-generate electricity).  All in-organics are melted and removed at the bottom of the reactor into a saleable non-leachable pebble slag.

After gasification, the resulting syngas when cooled, can then be scrubbed and bio-converted to ethanol by feeding it to anaerobic bacteria that eat CO, CO2 and H2 contained in the syngas and secrete ethanol in a closed fermenting chamber. The process takes about 7 minutes from beginning waste conversion to 99.9% pure ethanol distillation.
